Bug Chasers Delight

Bug Chasers should be careful what they ask for because you just might get it!

There has been a growing trend sweeping our nation over the past 10 years or so, and it’s not a pretty one! Seems as though Men who have sex with men are trying to get the HIV virus on purpose! I am not sure if this trend is only within the Gay men’s community or if it’s wider spread then media is willing to admit. I don’t know if the light is being shined only on the gay Men’s community to cover the truth about this alarming trend..

Why are people trying to contract the HIV virus?

(Knowing your HIV status is half the battle)

One reason is the misconception that HIV is no longer a treat & life would be easier because bug chasers think HIV alone will qualify them for entitlements & services such as income, medical insurance, medical & mental treatment, food stamps and housing. HIV alone does not qualify you for above entitlements.

Fact: In order to qualify in New York City you would have to have a CD4 200 or below or 2 opportunistic infections (PCP Phenomena, KC Kaposi Sarcoma, Etc). This may vary from state to state & countries.

Facts: Most people who are newly infected with HIV are being dual diagnosed with a secondary infection. HIV plus an STI(s) or Mental health disorder, Etc

If a bug chaser knew what they were up against I don’t think they would continue to chase after a virus that will only land them a hand full of pill to take on a daily & monthly doctors’ visits for a life time.

Bug Chasers behold your future! A future of pills, doctors, blood work & yes employment to pay your standard of living. Unless you are rapidly progressing & can meet the criteria above to get entitlements nothing about your life will change except pills, doctors etc.
